![]() ![]() I have not tried accessing the pictures to copy out to other programs, but I'll give it a go later. This was something that was carried out by a company who were payed by the UK government and offered, free, to anyone applying for a copy. I've also obtained a free CD-ROM of aerial photographs of the UK. If you need to switch between acres, square feet, hectares, or other units of measure, click. ExpertGPS will calculate the area of your field (and all the other closed tracks in the Track List) and display it. Click Select Columns on the List menu, and make sure Area is checked. The one I have was sold through the Ordnance Survey, which is the official government mapping service in the UK. On the left side of the screen, switch to the Track List. I bought mine, in a proper shop, for under £10 (about US$7) and I can copy from it into a variety of programs. ExpertGPS makes it easy to transfer waypoints, routes, and tracks, as well as GPS, GIS, and CAD data, to and from your Garmin Lowrance HDS GPS chartplotter. There are a couple of fairly cheap map CD-ROMs available for the UK. ExpertGPS is GPS map software for your Windows computer or laptop. I've never looked into buying maps outside of the US, but I understand they are much more expensive if they are available at all. The reason the maps and photos only cover the US is that the US is the only country that makes their maps and photos available online for free. Especially where you've bought the map in the first place, or get copies via Libraries etc. Although, there are relaxations now for private use. If I need to scan, that's no technical problem, but I'd suggest being careful of copyright. The 'use your own maps' feature would be interesting, would these be scanned maps or could they be taken off a CD-ROM such as those sold via the Ordnance Survey I wonder? I use a program, called UI-View, for APRS which allows you to import from the Ordnance Survey CD-ROMs. I have a CD-ROM, which was distributed free, of aerial photographs of the UK. To download unlimited maps of Australia, download and install ExpertGPS.Click Go to Country. I have to say that EasyGPS has been very useful to me already. If you view an Elevation Profile or a list of trackpoints in a selected track, these appear in a new window, associated with that file. Thanks for the information, I'll try the trial download and see what it can do. When you open or create a new file, ExpertGPS creates a new window, which contains two panes: a list on the left, and a map on the right. ExpertGPS comes with free upgrades, and one of the planned features we will be releasing later this year will let you use ExpertGPS with your own maps. After 12 months, you will continue receiving program updates, technical support, and access to high-resolution map downloads for an annual maintenance fee of 79 per user for Pro licenses, or 33 for. The aerial photos and topos only cover the USA. ExpertGPS comes with free access to all program updates, high-resolution maps and aerial photos, and priority technical support for 12 months. ![]()
